State & Local Solar Incentives — Maximize Your Savings

Local Incentives Matter More Than You Might Think

Most homeowners focus on what's happening nationally, but state and local programs can add meaningful savings on top of whatever federal credits you qualify for — and they vary by utility, city, and even zip code. TGE advisors know what's active in your area.

Net Metering Programs

Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia all offer net metering, which credits you for the surplus electricity your panels push back to the grid. Depending on your utility, those credits can offset most or all of your winter electric bill.

Utility and Local Solar Rebates

Several utilities in our service area offer one-time installation rebates for homeowners who go solar. These vary by provider and change annually — ask your TGE Solutions advisor which programs are currently active when you get your quote.

Property Tax Exemptions

Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana each offer solar property tax exemptions, meaning your home's assessed value doesn't go up just because you added panels. In Ohio, the exemption covers the full appraised value of the solar system — so you get the equity benefit without the tax hit.

"The TGE team walked me through every incentive available in my area — I didn't realize how much I could save beyond the panels themselves." — Homeowner, Cincinnati, OH
